Simon is the round electronic toy from 1978 that has been outlasting its own batteries in living rooms ever since, faithfully recreated here. Four colour pads flash a sequence with a tone attached to each, and your job is to play it back in the same order; clear it and the sequence grows by one and quickens, and a single wrong pad ends the run. The reason it is deceptively hard is that it demands both memory and nerve at rising speed, and the way through is to lean on more than your eyes — name each colour to yourself as it lights, listen to the distinct pitch every pad carries, and chunk the sequence into small groups the way you would a phone number rather than choking on one long string. Keep your gaze on the whole board so no flash slips by, and above all stay loose as the tempo climbs, because rushed taps cause more deaths than the speed itself ever does.
