About Latch

Latch is a one-button momentum game with no steering, no jump, and no thrust — just you, a tether, and a field of pegs scrolling past. Hold the button to latch the nearest peg ahead and gravity swings you around it, building speed; release and you fly off with exactly the momentum you had, arcing toward the next peg. Grab too early and you fall short of it; hold too long and you swing right past. That is the entire loop, and it is pure timing: release at the bottom of a swing for the most forward drive, and lean into longer swings to bank the speed you need to clear wider gaps ahead. Reading the next peg before you let go is what turns a lucky catch into a controlled arc, and glints riding the ideal path stack a combo multiplier for the greedy. As the pegs scroll faster, staying loose beats panicking — panic grabs are what end runs. Free and made for one thumb in the browser, it saves your best distance for the next swing.

How to play

  • You swing from pegs on a tether — there is no steering, jumping, or thrust.
  • Hold to latch the nearest reachable peg ahead; gravity swings you and builds speed.
  • Release to fly off with your momentum and arc toward the next peg.
  • Latch too early and you fall short; too late and you swing past. Chain as many pegs as you can.

Strategy & tips

  • Timing is everything — release at the bottom of a swing for the most forward momentum.
  • Build speed on longer swings so you can clear wider peg gaps ahead.
  • Read the next peg before you release so you arc to reach it.
  • Grab the glints on the ideal arc to stack a combo multiplier.
  • Stay loose as the pegs scroll faster; panic grabs end runs.
