How to play

  • Remove cards in pairs that add up to 13 — a 6 with a 7, a 9 with a 4, and so on.
  • A Jack is 11, a Queen is 12, and a King is 13, so Kings are removed on their own.
  • You can only take a card when nothing overlaps it from below.
  • Turn cards from the stock to the waste to find more matches, up to three passes.

Strategy & tips

  • Look for pairs that free up the most cards behind them, not just the easiest match.
  • Keep an eye on which cards you still need — do not bury a card you must pair later.
  • Use the stock deliberately; you only get three passes through it.
  • Clear Kings as soon as they are free — they take no partner and open the pyramid up.
  • Plan a few moves ahead so a needed card is not left stranded under others.

FAQ

How do I win Pyramid Solitaire?

Clear every card from the pyramid by removing pairs that total 13 (and Kings on their own). Empty the pyramid and you win.

What are the card values?

Ace is 1, number cards are their face value, Jack is 11, Queen is 12, and King is 13. Pairs must add up to exactly 13.
