How to play
- Use your arrow keys (or swipe on mobile) to slide all tiles in one direction.
- When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one tile with double the value.
- After every move, a new tile (2 or 4) appears in a random empty cell.
- Reach the 2048 tile to win — or keep going for a higher score. The game ends when no moves are left.
Strategy & tips
- Pick one corner and keep your highest tile there for the whole game — most players use the bottom-left.
- Prefer two directions (e.g. left and down) and avoid the opposite ones unless forced. This keeps your board ordered.
- Build tiles in a descending "snake" pattern along one edge so merges chain naturally into your corner.
- Never make a move that lifts your biggest tile out of its corner — one careless swipe can unravel the board.
- Slow down in the endgame: when the board is over half full, count what each move spawns space for before you swipe.
