How to play

  • Tap the left or right tilt button (or press ←/→) to shear the whole board diagonally, one row at a time.
  • Tilting scatters and realigns colours across the diagonal — matching 3 or more in a row or column clears them.
  • Cleared tiles drop and refill, and a fresh match can cascade into another for a wave bonus.
  • You have a limited number of tilts — score as high as you can before they run out.

Strategy & tips

  • A tilt shifts every row (except the top) by a different amount, so plan for the whole board moving, not one tile.
  • Chain a match right after your last one to keep the combo streak alive — a tilt with no match resets it.
  • Cascading waves multiply your score, so a tilt that sets up a chain reaction beats one that only clears a single line.
  • There is no invalid move — every tilt changes the board, so there is never a need to hunt for a legal move.
  • Alternate tilt direction when obvious matches run out — the other diagonal often opens fresh lines.

FAQ

How do you play Skew?

Tap the left or right button to tilt the whole board diagonally. Rows shift by different amounts, scattering colours until three or more line up and clear.

Do I swipe individual tiles?

No — Skew has no tile swapping. You only ever tilt the entire board left or right; the diagonal shear does the rearranging.

How many tilts do I get?

You start with 30 tilts. Score as many cascading matches as you can before they run out.

Is it free and account-free?

Yes. Skew plays free in your browser with no download and no sign-up. Your best score saves locally.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Tap the on-screen tilt buttons, or swipe left or right on the board itself.
