About Bankshot
Bankshot is billiards with the cue, the rack and the opponent stripped away, leaving the one part of pool that feels like geometry you actually enjoy: the bank shot. Every board fires from the same spot in the bottom-left corner toward a target circle somewhere across a table scattered with straight wall segments — two or three on Easy, up to seven on Hard. You set an angle and a power, let go, and watch the ball carom off cushions and walls while rolling friction bleeds its speed away. The catch is that only where the ball stops counts; sailing straight through the target and out the other side is still a miss. Because the physics has no randomness at all, the same angle and power always trace exactly the same path, so a miss is information rather than bad luck — faint trails of your last three attempts stay on the table for comparison, and three undos per board let you take back a probe shot entirely, though each board allows only par plus three shots. Beginners nudge the power up and down; stronger players reason backward from the target, choosing which wall should do the final bit of steering. A win pays a flat bonus plus more for finishing under par, and the Daily board is the same for everyone, with a streak for returning.
How to play
- Drag from the launch point (or use the angle/power steppers) to aim, then fire.
- The ball bounces off the board edges and any walls in its path, slowing down every tick under rolling friction.
- Watch where it comes to rest — landing inside the target circle wins the board.
- Not happy with a shot? Undo it (a limited number of times) and try a different angle or power.
- You have par + 3 shots per board — run out without sinking it and the board is lost.
Strategy & tips
- Think in bounces, not straight lines — a wall in the way is often the fastest path to the target, not an obstacle to avoid.
- Higher power travels farther before friction kills its speed, but overshooting past the target is just as much a miss as falling short.
- Use your undos on early attempts to feel out how a wall’s angle redirects the ball, then commit once you have a read on it.
- Fewer shots to sink the target score a bigger bonus, so a confident, well-aimed guess beats poking around at random.
