About Carousel

Carousel is a match-three puzzle where you choose what goes in, but never where. A ring of slots turns past a fixed loader at twelve o'clock; you hold three marbles and feed one of them into whichever slot sits under the loader, after which the ring advances a set number of slots on its own — five, on the Normal ring of twelve. Three or more of one colour in an unbroken run around the circle, including runs that wrap past the top, vanish for ten points a marble, and back-to-back clearing placements add a combo bonus on top. The rotation is what turns a colour sort into a planning game. Because the step never changes, the future is fully mapped: on Normal, one neighbour of the slot you just filled comes back under the loader five placements later and the other one seven placements later, so building a run means thinking several turns out and keeping the right colour in hand for when its slot arrives. The danger is quieter than a full ring, too — the run ends the moment the loader's next stop already holds a marble, which can happen with gaps still open elsewhere. Easy spins ten slots in four colours; Hard, fourteen slots in six.

How to play

  • Choose a colored marble from your hand and place it in the loader slot.
  • After every placement, the whole ring automatically rotates a fixed number of slots — you never control the rotation directly.
  • Line up three marbles of the same color anywhere along the ring and they clear, scoring points and opening space.
  • If the slot the loader stops at next is already filled, the run ends — even if other slots on the ring are still open.

Strategy & tips

  • Think one rotation ahead — since the ring always turns the same amount after your placement, you can predict exactly where today’s marble will land next turn.
  • Difficulty changes the ring size and rotation step, so a plan that works on Easy will not directly transfer to Hard.
  • Clearing early keeps the ring from filling up, which matters more than chasing a bigger match once space gets tight.
  • Watch for near-complete color runs building up around the ring, not just next to the loader — the rotation will bring them to you.

FAQ

How do you play Carousel?

Pick a marble from your hand (click, tap, or number keys 1-3) and place it at the loader. The ring then rotates on its own by a fixed amount before your next turn.

Why did the ring move without me doing anything?

That is the core twist — every placement triggers an automatic rotation, so you are always planning around where the ring will be next, not just where it is now.

When does the run end?

As soon as the slot that rotates under the loader is already occupied — which can happen before the whole ring is full. Clear same-color runs of three or more to keep slots open where the loader will land.
