Play to set a score, then submit it to the board.
How to play
- Tap any square to plant your pin, then spin the entire constellation of dots 90° around it.
- You never move a dot on its own — every dot turns together, as one rigid piece.
- A dot that lands on an empty anchor pins there permanently and stops rotating with the rest.
- Pin every dot to win. If any dot would land off the board or on a pinned one, the board shatters.
Strategy & tips
- The pin is the only thing you choose. Move it, and the same board turns a completely different way.
- Locking a dot is the only way to break the constellation apart — that is your one lever, so plan which dot to shed next.
- Preview both directions before committing. The counter-clockwise and clockwise results are rarely mirror images once anchors are involved.
- Beating par pays a bonus with no ceiling, so once you can win, hunt for a shorter route.
- Pinned dots become walls. Shed them in an order that keeps the rest of the constellation clear of them.
FAQ
Can I move a single dot?
No. Every dot rotates together around your pin. Landing dots on anchors is the only way to separate them.
Why did my board shatter?
A spin sent at least one dot off the grid or onto an already-pinned dot. Preview the spin before committing, or undo.
What is par?
The shortest possible solution for that board. It is proven by construction, not guessed, and beating it pays an uncapped bonus.
Is Pinwheel free?
Yes — it plays free in your browser with no download or sign-up, on desktop and mobile.
