About Shadowfit

Shadowfit is a spatial puzzle played against a clock. A purple wall slides toward you with a hole cut into its three-by-three grid, and you hold a small cluster of cubes that can only be rolled, never moved sideways. Each press turns the block 90 degrees around the X, Y or Z axis, and the wall reacts instantly: dashed cells are hole you still need to fill, lime cells already line up, and red cells mark cubes that would smash into solid wall. The shadow must match the hole exactly, position included, because the amber dot at the center of your block never leaves the middle of the grid. Roll until no red remains and the hole is filled, then slam the block through for 5 bonus points per tick still on the approach bar, or wait and let the wall arrive. Hitting the shortest possible rotation count, shown as Par, adds a Perfect bonus, and three clean passes in a row double every gain. The block grows from three cubes to six, minimum par rises from one turn to three, and the approach shrinks from seven seconds to under two. Three crashes end the run, and every run comes from one seed, so a friend can replay your walls exactly.

How to play

  • A wall with a hole in its 3×3 grid slides toward you while you hold a small block of 3 to 6 cubes. Press Start, Enter, or Space to begin.
  • Roll the block 90° at a time: ↓/S and ↑/W turn it around X, →/D and ←/A around Y, Q and E around Z. On touch, swipe the block or tap the six pad buttons. The block never slides sideways, and the amber-dot cube always stays in the center cell.
  • The wall shows your shadow live: lime cells fit, dashed cells are hole still to fill, and red cells would crash into solid wall. The shadow must match the hole exactly. When FITS appears, press Space or Slam to send it through early, or let the wall arrive on its own.
  • A pass scores (100 + 5 per tick left on the approach bar + 50 for a Perfect) times your streak multiplier: ×2 from 3 passes in a row, ×3 from 6, and ×4 from 9. A crash costs one of 3 lives and resets the streak.

Strategy & tips

  • Look at the red cells first. A red cell in the top or bottom row usually needs an X roll, a red cell in the left or right column usually needs a Y roll, and Q/E spins the whole shadow in place.
  • Count your turns against the Par number. Par is the fewest rotations that solve the wall, and matching it exactly adds 50 points before the multiplier, so think before you start rolling.
  • Slam the moment FITS appears. Every tick still on the approach bar is worth 5 points before the multiplier, and the bar turns red with only one second left.
  • Protect the streak over single big gains. From the third pass in a row every gain is doubled, so one panicked slam with a red cell showing can cost more than slow play.

FAQ

How does Shadowfit get harder?

Walls 1 to 3 use 3-cube blocks, walls 4 to 8 use 4, walls 9 to 16 use 5, and every wall after that uses 6. The approach starts at 7 seconds and loses 0.2 seconds per wall down to 1.8 seconds, and the minimum par rises from 1 rotation to 2 on wall 3 and to 3 on wall 11.

Why did my block crash when the shape looked right?

Position counts, not just shape. The block only rotates around its center cube and can never move sideways, so the shadow has to land on the exact cells of the hole. If any cell is red or any dashed cell is still empty, the block crashes.

What is a Perfect fit?

A Perfect means you solved the wall in exactly the Par number of rotations, the fewest possible from the starting orientation. It adds 50 points before the streak multiplier. Using more turns still passes, just without the bonus.
