About Unblock
Unblock — you may know it as Rush Hour or the sliding-block escape puzzle — takes one of the most satisfying feelings in puzzling, freeing something that is stuck, and builds a whole game around it. A red block is trapped in a jam of other blocks; each one slides only along its own length, never turning, and your job is to shuffle them out of the way until the red block has a clear run to the exit. The early levels almost solve themselves, but the hard ones are genuine brain-teasers where the winning first move often looks like the wrong one, and where solving it in the fewest moves is a puzzle of its own. It is the kind of game that makes you sit back when the path finally opens. This version includes dozens of hand-designed, verified-solvable levels that climb from two-move warm-ups to expert tangles, works with drag or tap on any screen, and tracks your best.
How to play
- Drag a block along its own axis — horizontal blocks move left/right, vertical blocks move up/down.
- Blocks stop against the walls and against each other; they cannot turn or jump.
- Clear a path so the red block can slide out through the gap on the right edge.
- Solve each level in as few moves as you can — every level has a known best.
Strategy & tips
- Work backwards from the exit: find what is directly blocking the red block, then what blocks that.
- A vertical block only helps when it slides fully clear of the red block’s row — half-way is still in the way.
- Do not shuffle blindly; each move should open a specific block’s path, not just rearrange the jam.
- Corner and edge blocks have the least freedom — plan their one useful move early.
- If you are stuck, Undo back a few moves and try freeing a different blocker first.
